Hey Blog. This is the poster to promote WBGO's Champions of Jazz Benefit Concert on November 3rd. Its going on display at the Lincoln Center and I'm looking forward to seeing it in the display boxes. The dimensions are 36" x 54".

Also, if you're in the tri-state area on September 29th, come to the opening reception of The Book Show featuring work from the SVA MFA Illustration as Visual Essay Program. Wine and cheese abound.

When Was the Last Time You...

Hey Blog. It's very possible that today's post is an utter waste of time, but I can't remember the last time I had Cracker Jacks. Well, I don't usually eat caramelized popcorn for one, but other than that I like them. In fact I like them enough to feel compelled to photograph the prize inside. Is it stupid that designing one of these "prizes" is a dream gig of mine?

We're All Guilty Of It

Hey Blog. I'm kicking a minor cold that I had all week, but I'm pretty sure I'm over the hump. I have to work on a poster this weekend so that's good news. Also, I finally saw Moon, directed by Duncan Jones and starring Sam Rockwell. Great flick, it really hearkens back to a 60's vibe. Great stuff.

Today's drawing is just a thought that I had yesterday while in a conversation. Done very quickly, that's pretty much the point.

I'll see you next week, hopefully with a head less full of phlegm.

*update* If you're curious, I did adjust the image (Probably because I was thinking too hard about it).

Noir Town pt 3

Hey Blog. This was supposed to go up on Friday, but things got crazy on Friday so I thought I'd save it for Monday. Anyway, that's it for this series (for now anyway). I'll be back with some stuff this week.

Also, I love you Kanye, but you're an ass.

Sup Blog, these are a couple of images for submission into a narrative anthology. They're 2 parts of 5. It feels like its been forever since I've worked on sequential imagery. These are based on a story called "Rabbits" by Christopher Stanton.

More tomorrow!

Back In Business [Week]

space
Hey Blog. I have finally discovered The Wire, and I'm slightly obsessed.

Also, I had opportunity work with the good people at Business Week for a couple of illustrations. The first one is a half page that deals with the FCC regulating smart phone apps. The second is a smaller piece is about the recent decrease in credit card delinquency. I suppose that constitutes a good sign for the future.

Lastly, The Altpick Awards have officially been extended until September 30. This is good news for all you talented procrastinators out there.
